8 Limbed Girl

On Sunday my roommate hurt her back and I had to take her to the hospital. During the routine 4 hour ER visit, I had to ensure my roommate that she was not going to get her legs cut off by accident because the doctor was checking out her back. She frequently watches those "true life" ER horror shows, so while I couldn't really ensure that she wasn't going to come out leg-less, I could ensure her that she wouldn't come out with 8 legs! I told her to look on the bright side and be thankful that although she didn't have legs she wouldn't be a freak of nature having 8 legs! Also, I told her people feel bad for those with no logs and they don't have to work for the rest of their lives... They can carry around a cup and beg for some change while wheeling their torso around on a skateboard, singing the catchy tune "I have no legssss, I have noooo legggssss!" like that leg-less man in the film KIDS. Or better yet she could be like Lieutenant Dan and be angry and bitter to Forrest or the world in general. In any event, having no legs is clearly not as as bad as having 8 as shown in this very sad, yet true news clip.
