Just had to give cred to the parody artist himself, Weird Al Yankovic. I still remember buying this Cassette Tape, yes I said cassette tape, back in the day. To this day I still believe that the parody is better than the original song. However, this could just be because I am a fan of the remix, and this is a very similiar concept. According to the scholarly source Wikipedia, a remix is an alternative version of a song, different from the original version.
An examples of remix from the hiphop/rap community:
Camron - Horse and Carriage and the Remix
Notice how the original has nothing to do with the remix.
This on the other hand is more of a mashup:
Jay-Z - Dirt off Your Shoulders and the Linkin Park Mashup
